Game introduction

What is Nonogram?

Nonogram, also known as Picross, is a picture logic puzzle. The clues beside each row and column describe consecutive groups of filled squares; solving all of them reveals a simple pixel image.

The numbers give both quantity and order. A clue of 3, 1 means a group of three filled cells appears before a separate single cell, with at least one empty square between the groups.

Nonogram Frequently asked questions

Is Nonogram free to play online?

Yes. You can play the full Nonogram game free in your browser with no account, subscription or download.

What do the numbers in a Nonogram mean?

Each number gives the length of one filled group in that row or column. Multiple numbers appear in order and every group must be separated by at least one empty cell.

Why should I mark empty Nonogram squares?

Empty marks record cells that cannot be filled. They prevent repeated checking and make the remaining positions for each clue much easier to see.

Can I play Nonogram on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The game is designed for touch screens as well as mouse controls, with keyboard controls included where they suit the puzzle.
